6 April 1972: The 101st Airborne Division (Airmobile)'s colors return to Fort Campbell

The 101st Airborne Division (Airmobile)'s colors return to Fort Campbell, Kentucky signaling the completion of its redeployment from Vietnam.

1st Brigade, also known as the "Nomads of Vietnam" went to Vietnam as a separate brigade in 1965 and was followed by the remainder of the 101st in 1967. In the seven years of fighting, the 101st had over 3500 Screaming Eagles killed in action.
