Coad is from Terre Haute, Indiana, and she served previously in the United States Air Force. The 101st is glad she decided to change course and serve in the U.S. Army.
One of her short-term goals is to graduate from the Sapper Leader Course and says she aspires to earn her diamond one day and become a first sergeant.
"First Sergeants really inspire and motivate Soldiers more than they may know. I want to be able to do that for my Soldiers."
